Removal of the Aston Webb Screen

News: Collaboration with conservation experts to preserve of Grade I listed fabric

April 26 2014

The delicate process of removing the Aston Webb Screen at the V&A is now complete.

Specialist stonework contractors PAYE have worked closely with AL_A and historical consultant Giles Quarme & Associates to complete the six month meticulous and painstaking process.

The removal of the Screen will allow for the demolition of the existing Boilerhouse Yard structures beyond.

Each stone has been documented and catalogued and will be stored ahead of re-erection of the Screen in its new form at the end of the construction.
