Central Yards – Community Coffee Kiosk

Central Yards Takes Shape

June 19 2026

The next chapter of Hong Kong’s harbourfront is coming to life. We’re delighted to see the Community Coffee Kiosk open in partnership with homegrown coffee brand Little Cove Espresso, as one of the first glimpses of Central Yards.

Designed in collaboration with Hong Kong artist Hayley Lee, the kiosk is shaped by its immediate environment, conceived as a calm and immersive space set within the constant movement of the public thoroughfare.

Positioned within an alcove beside the steady flow of passersby, it establishes a strong presence without interrupting circulation, extending its atmosphere beyond the counter itself.

A sweeping canopy defines the space overhead, drawing people inward while creating a sense of shelter and stillness beneath. At its centre, a circular oculus introduces soft, diffused light that amplifies the perceived volume of the interior and heightens the contrast between the kiosk’s outer form and its luminous core.

Organised around a central structural column and confined on three sides, the kiosk is resolved as a singular sculptural form. A mirror-polished stainless-steel shell contrasts with the soft illuminated interior, the carved opening between canopy and counter revealing glimpses of light and curvature from afar.

The kiosk will donate all net proceeds to Save the Children, turning the daily ritual of coffee into a meaningful act of community engagement.

As the first pieces of Central Yards begin to emerge, we’re excited to see this new chapter of Hong Kong’s harbourfront continue to take shape.
