Belgrade Philharmonic Concert Hall Receives Building Permit

Permit approval clears the way for construction to begin

March 13 2026

Following four years of intensive work with consultants and government stakeholders, we have secured the building permit for the Belgrade Philharmonic Concert Hall. This milestone unlocks an exciting new chapter in a project set to redefine the city’s cultural landscape. As the biggest cultural investment in Serbian history, it reflects the city’s commitment to building a brighter, more sustainable future – one we are thrilled to be part of.

Set at the confluence of two great European rivers, the Belgrade Philharmonic Concert Hall is imagined as an expression of harmony between building and landscape, between east and west, between generations and between cultures.

Rewilding strategies extend the ecology of Great War Island to meet the Concert Hall, expanding habitats, increasing biodiversity and softening the threshold between building and park. The hall emerges from this lush setting as a powerful civic presence where music resonates not only within its walls, but across the city and beyond.

At every opportunity, the design nurtures a dialogue between music, landscape and the public, inviting people of all ages into a shared cultural experience. With the permit now secured, the Belgrade Philharmonic Concert Hall moves into a new phase, bringing our vision closer to reality.
