AL_A & Cox Architecture shortlisted for theatre at QPAC, Brisbane

Five teams to take part in six-week design competition

AL_A & Cox Architecture have been selected to participate in a design competition for the $150m new theatre at the Queensland Performing Arts Centre in Brisbane.

The 1500 seat venue will provide a new facility for the Queensland Ballet, Queensland Symphony Orchestra and Opera Queensland, doubling the size of their current audiences and making it Australia’s largest performing arts centre.

Five design teams will now take part in a six week Design Competition Tender process including:

  • Snøhetta and Blight Rayner Architecture
  • Cox Architecture and AL_A
  • ARM Architecture and M3 Architecture
  • Richard Kirk Architects and Kerry Hill Architects
  • Henning Larsen and Wilson Architects (Architects in Association)
