Two museums designed by AL_A featured during week-long celebration of design and what it can do

August 22 2017

Amanda will discuss the role of the museum in the twenty-first century during the Global Design Forum 2017 in London.

In “The Bilbao effect 2.0: a tale of two museums“, Amanda will explain how the V&A Exhibition Road Quarter in London and MAAT in Lisbon were conceived of as urban as well as cultural projects and the move from buildings as icon to an iconography of place.

The Global Design Forum is a week-long celebration of design and what it can do. A series of talks, discussions and workshops will lift the lid on the most innovative thinking in the world of design today.

The Forum is organised by the London Design Festival and runs from 16-22 September at the Victoria & Albert Museum.

Tickets for “The Bilbao effect 2.0” on Friday 22 September at 17.30 in the Hochhauser Auditorium at the V&A are available online here.
