MAAT recognised with Supreme Award at Surface Design Awards 2018

MAAT wins the Public Building category and awarded overall winner prize

MAAT has won the Exterior, Public Building category for the 4th Surface Design Awards, which recognises progressive design and the use of innovative interior and exterior surfaces. In addition, the project was given the Supreme Award for standing out as a project of excellence.

This announcement follows MAAT’s successes in winning the ECCS Steel Design Award of Merit 2017; Best of Best Architecture Iconic Awards 2017Museum Architecture of the Year prizer at the LCD Awards 2017 and the Design Prize 2017; and as a finalist at the Blueprint Awards; and the World Architecture Festival.

The three other projects shortlisted in the category were:

  • The Mirrored Sight Shelter, China, Li Hao
  • NGS Macmillan Unit, Derbyshire, Manser Practice
  • Bund Finance, Art and Culture Centre, Foster and Heatherwick
