Exceptionally slim pendant OLED lights for tincan

Project focus: Wafer thin lights for restaurant project developed with LG Chem

October 12 2014

Tincan, our restaurant project in London’s Soho, was illuminated by minimal light fittings developed by AL_A and LG.

We designed an elegant pendant light to showcase LG Chem’s pioneering OLED technology, a wafer thin light source encased by a spun aluminium casing.

A video, ‘LG Chem OLED panels for tincan, a new pop up restaurant by AL_A’, illustrates the design and manufacture.

We collaborated with A.G. Major on the fabrication of the casing and assembled the lights ourselves in our studio ready for hanging.

We are now investigating the possibility of putting a series of lights promoting this technology into production in 2015.
