AL_A is pleased to announce the opening of the recently completed Globe Academy in Southwark, London.
With a focus on delivering quality spaces at minimum expense, the design creates robust and colourful classrooms that are lofty and filled with light - ceilings are high, windows are big, and circulation spaces are generous - because it is the fundamental qualities of light and space that make the difference to the experience of learning in its widest sense.
Sited within a socially deprived area, this city academy has the potential to not only create new beginnings for pupils, but simultaneously act as a motivator for learning and a catalyst for welcoming and engaging with the wider community of Southwark.
